Our first event with all foreign wines was a big success and Brix, as always, impressed. The wines were provided by Quintessential Wines, a large and respected distributer that boasts a large portfolio of top notch international wines. Owner Dennis Krepps described the complex and varied wines and answered all member questions with enthusiasm and depth.

The evening began with a reception with hors d'Oeuvres served with Gustave Lorentz Cremant Brut Alsace, France and EQ 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, San Antonio Valley, Chile.

Dinner followed with a salad of baby field greens, black currants, toasted pine nuts and aged sherry vinaigrette paired with EQ 2009 Chardonnay, San Antonio Valley, Chile; pan roasted chicken breast, yukon potato puree, blue lake green beans and Salsa verde paired with Vina Valoria Cosecha 1973, Rioja, Spain and Attilio Ghisolfi Barolo Bricco Visette 2007, Piedmont, Italy; and for dessert mini carrot cakes with cream cheese frosting and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate butter cream paired with Tinto Figuero Noble Red Tempranillo 2005 Ribero del Duero, Spain. Quinta do Vallado Vintage Port 2009, Douro, Portugal was poured after dessert for members to enjoy.
