2016 Members Dinner

On Saturday, October 22 the Napa/Sonoma branch held our annual member dinner and business meeting at Tre Posti event site in St. Helena.

Member Joe Castrilli, VP of Marketing, Terlato International, provided wines from the Teralto portfolio for the evenings activities.

We began with a reception featuring tray passed Hors d’oeuvres of Pork and Ricotta Meatballs with spicy tomato sauce; Smoked Scottish Salmon with creme fraiche on potato crisp; paired with Piper Heidsieck Rose Sauvage Champagne from France.

During our short business meeting Tom Anyos was elected to serve on our board. We also provided a financial update and change to our calendar year to members. Our potential 2017 event schedule was also reviewed.

The highlight of our dinner was the presentation of the IWFS Board of Directors of the Americas Silver Medallion award to board member Valerie Lasker for her outstanding job handling our website and branch communications in addition to her leadership on a host of other issues.

Dinner began with Forni Brown Gardens Heirloom Tomatoes, Garden Basil, house made Mozzarella, Napa Valley olive oil, aged Balsamic, Rustic Bread and Olive oil; paired with 2014 David Bruce Russian Valley Chardonnay. Our entree was smoked and braised Beef Short Ribs, Three Cheese Polenta, natural jus paired with 2010 Anjon Ruppert Red Blend from South Africa. And finally for dessert, Brioche Bread Pudding, candied citrus, frangelico gelato; paired with Riondo Prosecco from Italy.
