Our special guest speakers were Jean-Charles Boisset and his wife Gina Gallo. Jean-Charles was born in Burgundy and leads Boisset Family Estates, which includes Domaine de la Vougeraie, DeLoach Vineyards, Raymond and Buena Vista Winery. Gina Gallo is Gallo’s Senior Director of Winemaking and Winemaker for Gallo Signature Series.
Our event featured wines from JCB and Gallo Signature, all generously provided by Jean-Charles and Gina.
We started with an outdoor reception featuring Huli huli glazed pork belly crostini with seasonal fruit relish, smoked salmon rillette on potato gaufrette and ahi poke on house made chip with radish slaw. Accompanied by JCB #69 Cremant de Bourgogne Sparking Rosé.
Dinner followed. Our starter was a baby greens salad with tea soaked cherries, herbed goat cheese, toasted walnuts, and lemon balsamic vinaigrette. The entrée was a choice of pan roasted sole with potato puree, sautéed spinach, and lemon-caper buerre blanc, or Cabernet slow-braised short ribs, grilled asparagus salad and raclette fondue. Dinner wines were 2016 JCB #81 Chardonnay, 2016 Gallo Signature Series Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir and 2011 JCB#1 Cabernet.
And finally, dessert was a delicious Vanilla Crème Brûlée with Shortbread Cookie.
