Prime Solum from the great Brokenrock Vineyard is Napa Valley Cabernet at its Finest. Prime Solum Cabernets have been consistently receiving scores of over 90 points from Robert Parker.
Expression 38 ° Sonoma Coast Pinot Noirs from the ocean-cooled vineyard of West County are remarkable.
We tasted six wines, two flights of three. Our tasting included top quality, fresh charcuterie produced locally by artisan and family farms: smoked salmon, pork rillettes, cured meats, hummus, cheeses, olives almond and fruit.
We were educated and entertained by Winegrower Bill (William) Hill, during the 2-3 hour tasting experience. Bill Hill has been recognized by Wine Spectator as one of the “Top 50 wine producers in the world who innovated, perfected and led the international campaign for higher quality wine”.
The Prime Solum team includes Winemaker Patrick Mahaney. Before joining Prime Solum, Patrick had a 24 year career at Robert Mondavi Winery, where he was Vice President of Global Wine Quality. Rare and special vineyards are required to make great wine. Wine quality is determined in the vineyard. Bill Hill and Patrick Mahaney have built long careers on understanding this relationship. They seek the best vineyards and then make wine from them.
